Lone Barn (originally a farm) has a French/European atmosphere with a gravelled courtyard surrounded by the 18th century barn, cottage and main house. Nestled in the valley just off the South Downs beneath Broadhalfpenny down – the home of English cricket. The owners, Paul and Melanie Flint offer both Country Bed & Breakfast and self catering.
Lone Barn is also excellently located for the Goodwood. So if you are looking for self catering or bed and breakfast accommodation to attend either the races or the Festival of Speed or Goodwood revival then Lone Barn is only 35 minutes away.

The South Downs are only 1½ miles away and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park (4miles) offers horse riding, mountain biking and again an extensive walking area. Beaches, sailing, horse racing at Goodwood and Fontwell, swimming and tennis are all easily accessible in the area.
For those interested in history, Uppark and Hinton Ampner, both National Trust Houses and Stansted, the Earl of Besborough’s estate are nearby. Also the homes of Jane Austen and Gilbert White. Besides HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose, Portsmouth offers maritime museums and ferries to the Isle of Wight for an excellent day out. Winchester the ancient Capital of Wessex and Chichester the county town of West Sussex have fine gothic cathedrals and can provide an endless source of exploration. Lone Barn is within walking distance (1/2 mile) of the famous Bat & Ball pub on Broadhalfpenny Down, where you will find a good atmosphere. In the summer you can let the minutes tick by as you watch the cricket on the down. There is an excellent choice of pubs in the nearby villages and hamlets.
